O TEM JE TREBA GOVORITI –

AWARENESS AND ENGAG E MENT

Don’t be a zero, be a hero and refrain from bullying Bullying is the act of picking on someone because of their appearance, financial situation, or material possessions. Unfortunately, it remains a widespread problem that children of all ages face every day, no matter where they go. Many victims of bullying begin to avoid school and live in constant fear of their bullies, even though every child has the right to feel safe and receive an education. In Slovenia, I believe the problem is smaller than in some other countries, mainly because of greater awareness among teachers and students. Still, it is essential to educate children from an early age so that they can develop strong morals and empathy toward others. The level of bullying often varies from school to school and may depend on the financial status of most students. It also differs significantly between urban and rural areas. I have heard of severe bullying in schools where many children come from Roma communities, as they are often seen as different and come from poorer backgrounds. When I was in primary school, I never personally experienced bullying, but I have heard that younger generations are facing more of it today. I believe the main reason for this increase is social media. Online platforms expose children to unrealistic standards, showing that people should always look perfect and have a lot of money.
