Watching films From a very young age, everyone is surrounded by films, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as some can be quite educational. There are many different types of films, and we all can find something we enjoy. I like watching horror films because they make me feel alive by boosting my adrenaline; you never know what will happen next. Some can be a bit extreme and cause trauma. For example, it was “A Serbian Film” for me. I didn’t enjoy watching it; the scenes were disgusting. My all- time favourite film is not a horror but a romance, “Five Feet Apart”. I cried buckets the first time I watched it. That’s why I prefer watching films at the cinema. At home, I can be more comfortable, pause whenever I like, it’s free, and most importantly, people don’t see me cry. An example is the last film I watched, “Hereditary”. It made me think about life, so I had to pause a few times, which wouldn’t be possible at the cinema. The film is about a brother and a sister. They had an accident, and the sister died. It made me think how quickly life can change in a second. I watched that movie three times because it really touched me, even though I don’t usually rewatch old movies, as there are so many new films out. New releases are usually only in cinemas for a short while, so it’s disappointing if you don’t like going to the cinema. You have to wait for the film to appear on Netflix or another streaming service. I do visit cinemas now and then with my friends or family, roughly every three months. I’ve heard there’s a new horror film coming out, “Black Phone 2”, which I will definitely see in the cinema. Eva, 3a
