saying all older people are like this, but most of them are. I notice this on the bus. I always give up my seat to older people because I want to show them my respect. What do I get for being nice? An angry look and no thank you. And when the bus is filled with people who are breathing down each other’s necks, there are the grandmas who have their little purse on an empty seat because they don’t want anyone to sit next to them. I believe respect should go both ways. I will respect you only if you respect me. We always hear how much we can learn from older people, but for some reason, they never mention how much we teach them. My mum always needs help with technology and other new things in today’s world, so they should respect us for teaching them things they aren’t skilled at. The school system which doesn’t change. How can it be that we went from carriages to cars, from landline phones to smartphones, yet one thing that hasn’t changed in the last hundred years is the school system? Except for the punishment. I think we should be taught new skills to help us survive in this new world, like managing our money and being smart with it. Instead, we keep learning things that won’t help us in the real world. I believe this should change. I understand we should know the basics of each subject, but we have to learn biology as if we were dissecting a human or an animal. 3a haiku haiku haiku haiku
